From Walls to Furniture: The Evolution of Tapestry

”The beauty of tapestry lies in its ability to transform”

At a private viewing in New York this September, the Pendula Ottoman illustrated how tapestry can move beyond tradition to become part of furniture – carrying its craftsmanship into everyday life.

”Each transformation reminds us that tapestry is not only about heritage, but about how craft continues to evolve.”

Tapestry has a long tradition as decoration for walls and floors. When used to upholster furniture, it opens yet another perspective – where woven artistry extends into the furniture we gather around.

Designed by Claire Fouché, Pendula draws on British embroidery and South African floral motifs. Its patterns take on new character when given shape, available in African Earth Brown, Eucalyptus Green, Noble Blue, or bespoke colours.
